The Symphonic Band of Bay Shore-Brightwaters is celebrating 25 years of bringing stellar live music to their hometown, and invites you to join in on the fun by attending the free “Summertime in the Park” 2024 concert series at the bandshell.

The bandshell, which is located on Main Street in Bay Shore and overlooks Watchogue Creek, is the perfect location to enjoy free music with friends and neighbors this summer. The Symphonic Band of Bay Shore-Brightwaters will perform Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. on July 3, July 10, July 17, and July 24. Parking meters will be suspended during these four Wednesday evenings in downtown Bay Shore, and the Chamber of Commerce of Greater Bay Shore  recommends attendees bring a lawn chair or blanket.

The Symphonic Band of Bay Shore-Brightwaters is composed of over 50 musicians, ranging from teens to seniors. Among their members is renowned musician and conductor Joel Levy, and the former cultural arts director at the Bay Shore Schools, Terry Nigrelli. The diversity of the performers is reflected in the diversity of musical genres that will be featured in the concerts, including classics, show tunes, pop music, and more.

In addition to the Wednesday evening concerts, the Brown-Bag Lunchtime Concert Series will bring free concerts to the bandshell every Tuesday at 12:15 p.m. from July 16 through Aug. 20. Bring your lunch and sit at park tables overlooking Watchogue Creek for music-filled afternoons, presented by the Bay Shore Chamber of Commerce and the Islip Arts Council.
