One-on-one soccer and basketball training

Three-sport captain for Sayville High School’s soccer, basketball, and flag football team, Franny Kloska, graduated in 2023. This summer, she returned home and will be offering private soccer and basketball training.

Kloska, 19, is a U.S.-soccer certified in 4v4, 9v9, and 11v11 and is in the process of earning her D license. She now attends Syracuse University studying mechanical engineering with a minor in coaching. At Syracuse, she is also a manager for the women’s soccer team.

“The love for the game and the friendships I’ve made over the years have had the greatest impact on my life, and I am forever grateful to now be able to share that and help the next generation of athletes grow and succeed,” she said of the reason behind helping train younger athletes, explaining that she has had both bad coaches and great ones. “The great ones believe in you, support you, get you to the next level and 100 percent outweigh the bad. I just want to be another great coach to have in your kids’ corner. Whatever ups and downs sports may present, I’ll have their backs and get them to where they want to be while instilling joy and a passion for years to come.”

During her high school career, she played varsity basketball for three years and led the team in ppg and assists as a two-year starting point guard. She was also a member of the girls that founded the flag football team.

“I experienced a new passion for a sport all over again as a senior, something I would’ve never thought was possible,” she said.

And of course, she played soccer and loved every minute of it.

“I grew up at the fields and under my basketball hoop, always wanting to score one more goal or put up one more shot before I had to go inside,” she said of her love for sports. “Even while watching my brothers play or my dad coach, I had a ball next to me and never failed to predict the next play.”

Kloska expects to graduate from college in 2027 and hopes to continue to coach either at the collegiate or high school level.

“I would love to come back and coach at Sayville High School,” she added.

The lessons will help her put money towards college, but more than that, she said, she wants to help kids get better, enjoy the sport, and be proud of what they accomplish.

She is currently offering both individual and small-group soccer or basketball lessons for ages 5 to 15. Group rates start at $25 per hour, per person and $35 for individuals; locations vary. Those interested in private training should text her at (631) 889-9644.
