It’s that time of year again!
The Village of Brightwaters is holding their annual Witches Paddle on Oct. 26 at Gilbert Park in Brightwaters. Witches and warlocks should gather around at 7:30 a.m. for the event to start at 8 a.m.
The event started back in 2019 and has been held every year since. Brightwaters locals channel their inner witch and gather for a fun time, regardless of the crisp, fall weather. Being held just five days before Halloween, it is a great way to get your spook on.
This is Brightwaters’ sixth year hosting the event. In order to participate, individuals must be dressed up as witches or warlocks. Additionally, only experienced paddlers will be allowed to set sail.
Paddlers will take off at Gilbert Park and make their way up the concourse. They will paddle to the top of the canal before heading back. The trip is about 2 miles roundtrip.
At last year’s event, over 50 witches attended the Witches Paddle.
For those who wish to spectate, the best spot to view the event will be at the top of the canal.
